A memorial service for Martin James, 47, a Silver Springs resident for the past 30 years, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mr. James died May 14, 2000, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Jan. 17, 1953, in Monroe, Mich., to Paul W. and Faith C. Manley James.
Before moving to Silver Springs, he lived at South Lake Tahoe.
Mr. James was the owner of MFJ Building Inspections. He was a member of E Clampus Vitus, Julia C. Bulette Chapter 4864 in Virginia City and a member of the International Conference of Building Officials. He loved motorcycles, boating, restoring cars and the outdoors. He loved making people laugh.
Among his survivors are his wife, Kathie and parents of Silver Springs; sons, Jesse of Fremont, Calif., Nathan of Silver Springs and Bert Donaldson of Fernley; daughters, Chelsea James of Silver Springs and Anne Lee of Stead; maternal grandmother, Lula Gerig of Silver Springs; brothers, David Chapman and Randy James, both of Silver Springs, Dennis James of Willows, Calif. and Greg James and Matt James, both of South Lake Tahoe.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
