Obituary: Stacy Leon Hunt

Stacy Leon Hunt, 51, of Reno, and a former state correctional officer, died Feb 24, 2000 in Reno.

Mr. Hunt was born March 18, 1948 in California to Stacy L. and Helen Pearl Breshears Hunt.

He retired from the U.S. Army and came to Reno four years ago from Salt Lake City. He worked for three years for the Nevada Department of Prisons and had recently been accepted as a sheriff's deputy.

Mr. Hunt was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the NCO Club.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Lucy of Reno; wife Gloria Hunt of Salt Lake City; sons Robert Hunt of Ft. Lewis, Wash., and Stacy Hunt Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters Cynthia Sims of Sacramento and Kimberly Deelstra of Salt Lake City; sister Anna Sethman of Reno; brothers John White of Auburn, Calif.; James White of Torrance, Calif.; George White of Tucson, Ariz., and John Hunt and Jim Hunt, both of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandsons Robert and Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Monday at Masonic Memorial Gardens in Reno, with a funeral service following. Cremation will be at Truckee Meadows Crematory.

Reno Memorial and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
