Obituary: Steven Calibro

A memorial service for Steven Charles Calibro, 81, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. Calibro died Feb. 2, 2000, at his residence. He was born July 31, 1918, in Greenville, Miss., to Charles and Annie Marchetti Calibro.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Concord, Calif.

Mr. Calibro was a retired U.S. Army major and served during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was also retired from the Retail Clerks Union. He was a member of the Carson City Masonic Lodge No. 1 F&AM, the Order of The Eastern Star, Esther Chapter 3, the Carson City Senior Center and the Reserve Officers Association.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Among his survivors are his wife of 57 years Irene of Carson City; son Steven William of Carson City; daughters Nancy Ellen Fucci of Concord, Calif., and Rayborg Maxine Owens of Atwater, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
