Obituary: Takashi Murakami

Takashi Murakami, 81, a Minden resident for the past year and former Gardnerville resident, died Nov. 4, 1999, at Valley Meadows Living Center in Gardnerville. He was born Jan. 23, 1918, in San Francisco, to Shintaro Murakami.

He married Toshiye Nagasugi on March 11, 1944, at Ft. Thomas, Ky.

Mr. Murakami worked and retired from Pan American Airways for several years and was a communications specialist for the University of California-Berkeley for 10 years. He loved traveling, marketing Pan Am and lived life to its fullest. He was an Episcopalian.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Among his survivors are his wife, Toshiye, of Minden.

A memorial service will be in San Francisco at a later date.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
