Organizers cancel Tina Logan benefit

Organizers have canceled the Friday Quality of Life benefit for Tina Logan because she has suffered setbacks in her battle with with Huntington's chorea, an incurable degenerative disease.

The dinner and dance, scheduled at the CVIC Hall in Minden, was to raise funds for the Logan family to assist with medical costs.

In a letter to the editor, the Logans said Tina had suffered setbacks because of the recent heat and was unable to meet the physical demands of the fund-raiser.

Family friend Susie Straker said ticketholders can call her for a full refund of the $25 and a return of raffle items and door prizes.

"We would like to publicly thank Susie, her family and all of the other people of the committee who arranged the benefit," the Logans said.
