The public is invited to a free program entitled "V&T McKeen Car Restoration Project - Two Year Progress Report" on June 14 at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

The illustrated talk by the museum's supervisor of restoration Christopher deWitt will begin at 7 p.m.

"William Riley McKeen Jr. ignored good taste," says deWitt, commenting on the interior colors of the car. "Furthermore, the car's construction techniques overshadow common sense." DeWitt has 23 years' experience restoring railroad equipment.

The Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum present a new educational program the second Wednesday of each month. Upcoming talks will include a history of railroad dining cars and a report on the disposition of California steam logging locomotives. On Wednesday nights in July and August, the museum shows movies outside in the park.
