Q-Tip: Attend DU dinner

If you would like to have an evening of fun, why not set aside Friday night.


If you do, you can plan to enjoy a pleasant combination of great camaraderie, excellent food and tasty drinks. You might also come home with some very nice items that you can either win or buy at a very special event.


Are you interested and what is that event?


Well if you are, the Carson City Chapter of Ducks Unlimited (DU) will hold its annual fund raising dinner at the Carson Nugget Convention Center on Friday evening.


That fund raiser will feature a hosted bar beginning at 6 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 7, followed by a number of raffles and auctions.


The cost to attend this fun-filled function is $50 per person. it includes a one-year membership in Ducks Unlimited.


The evening's Master of Ceremonies will be Pete Dickinson of Carson City and the Auctioneer will be Rich Lee of Fallon.


The door prize that will be won by some lucky person for just being at the fund raiser is a model 870 Remington shotgun.


There will a a dinner gun action of a 20-gauge, pump-action, Browning shotgun, complete with engraving and a gun case.


According to Dickinson, "We are expecting about 200 people at this year's fund raiser. We will have approximately 40 raffle prizes and a total of another 40 live and silent auction items."


He said that the raffle and auctions will feature such things as framed and unframed artwork, shotguns, rifles, hunting equipment, fishing gear, hunting clothing, etc.
