RENO- Darrell Rasner made it an even dozen as the University of Nevada pounded out a 16-5 Big West Conference baseball victory against New Mexico State on Sunday afternoon.
Rasner, a freshman right-hander from Carson City, allowed four runs on six hits over six innings to improve his season record to 12-2 and Nevada completed a sweep of the three-game series before a crowd of 1,322 at Peccole Park.
The Wolf Pack (30-15, 14-7) scored 11 runs in the first five innings and coasted the rest of the way.
The top two hitters in the lineup, center fielder Joe Inglett and DH Ryan Church collected three hits each and combined to score five runs and cleanup man Don Price went 2-for-2 with a home run and five RBIs for the Wolf Pack.
Rasner struck out five and walked five before giving way to Bryan Schultz, who pitched the final three innings to earn his fifth save of the season. Schultz allowed two runs on two hits and walked two.
