A preliminary hearing has been delayed until December for two men accused of armed robbery in connection with a drug deal that went bad.

Jason Daniel Torres, 20, and Douglas Paul Morgan, 37, are accused of armed robbery, battery and of being ex-felons in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from a September bust in which five people were arrested in a South Carson motel room.

At the time, investigators from the Tri-Net narcotics task force said agents were monitoring the suspected transaction in the motel room when weapons became a factor. Agents said they intervened to prevent injuries.

David Michael Perren, 20, who was also arrested in the bust, waived his preliminary hearing. In a deal with prosecutors, he is expected to plead guilty to one felony charge of armed robbery. His case will be heard in Carson City District Court in about two weeks.
