A 20-year-old Carson City man was in custody after eluding deputies in two separate car chases, nearly hitting a patrol car in a second instance, according to reports.
Miguel Angel Galindo, unemployed, is suspected of running from deputies twice on Sunday before they reportedly identified him and arrested him at his home on Monday.
According to the report, a sheriff's deputy was pulling a vehicle over when a red Honda, driving erratically, crossed Highway 50 East into a dirt lot. The deputy watched as the Honda run several stop signs while it was speeding away.
The deputy later caught up with the Honda about 4:15 p.m. in a residential area near State Street, where the driver accelerated towards him, nearly striking his vehicle. The Honda then continued driving recklessly at speeds of 25 mph to 50 mph.
Both chases were halted for safety reasons.
Following up on witness information, deputies went to Galindo's residence and arrested him for the alleged crimes.
He was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and eluding with endangerment, misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer and five separate traffic offenses.
Bail was set at $20,000.
