Vacaville, Calif. police are still looking for a suspect in the slaying one week ago of a Carson City native and his wife of less than a year.

Dennis and Libbie Green, 44 and 43, were gunned down in their Vacaville apartment March 5. Dennis Green's son Frederick Vincent Thiecke, 21, is being sought on a homicide warrant. Family members have been told that he might have fled to Mexico with a 16-year-old girlfriend.

Janet Hash, sister of Dennis Green, said the family is holding off on making solid arrangements for Green's cremation and memorial service. Previous plans to hold a memorial in Virginia City are unlikely to be followed through, she said.

"It is so difficult trying to organize this stuff," she said. She joined several family members who drove to Vacaville on Thursday to tie up Greens' affairs.

"We organized a crime scene clean-up crew, but it wasn't done when we got there," she said. "It was really horrifying."

Hash said she will miss her brother's outgoing personality and creativity. "He was a great poet; very gifted," she said. She mentioned in particular his relationship with his Aunt Dot "whom he loved very much."

Dennis and Libbie married last August in a Virginia City chapel, Hash said.

Dennis worked with Green Construction in Carson City almost two decades ago. The company is known for building the Carson Nugget.

He later moved to Oklahoma where he owned and operated Green Acres Construction. "He was a master carpenter," Hash said. "He worked all around Vacaville."

Green is survived by sisters Donnie, Stephanie and Janet; brothers Douglas, Cleve and Ruel; sons Jesse James and Jacob Daniels; parents Don and Shirley Green and four grandchildren.

As of Saturday, Thiecke was still being sought as a suspect in the murder. An autopsy confirmed that the couple died of multiple gunshots. A neighbor told police the Greens and Thiecke had been arguing prior to the murders.

"The whole thing is so sick," Hash said. "I never in my dreams ever thought we would ever be bringing both of them back here."
