Paul Randall, a 19-year-old transient, was arrested in his Carson City motel room Monday after deputies served a warrant for suspicion of check forgery.
Investigators connected Randall with an investigation that included information from a confidential informant. The informant told investigators that Randall received stolen checks from a woman.
According to reports, Randall confirmed the story and reportedly stated he "took the forged checks to the Nevada Credit Union and cashed the checks." He said he then split the money with the woman.
When deputies searched the motel room in the 2700 block of South Carson Street, they also reportedly found drugs and paraphernalia they believe belonged to Randall.
He was charged with felony check forgery, stolen property possession and misdemeanor drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession and held on $27,500 bail.
Randall appeared in District Court earlier on Monday and entered a guilty plea to fraudulent use of a credit card stemming from a Jan. 28 arrest.
He told Judge Michael Griffin that he used his father's credit card to make charges. As part of a plea agreement, charges in Lyon County were dropped.
Randall is scheduled to appear for sentencing on May 1.
