RENO - The University of Nevada women's basketball team has the 13th-highest rated recruiting class in the nation, according to the Women's Basketball Journal.
Nevada, ranked among the top 25 classes with two or less signees, came in at No. 13 with the early signing of Ashlee Orndorff and Erica McGlaston on Nov. 10.
Orndorff, a 6 foot-3 guard from Mineral County High School, was named a USA Today All-American Honorable Mention in 1999 and was the USA Today Nevada Player of the Year in 1998.
After averaging 24 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists per game as a junior, Orndorff was named to the Nike All-American Team. She was ranked in scouting services as one of the top 30 players in the nation and as one of the top five perimeter players.
Orndorff was recruited by nearly every top 20 program in the nation, including Duke, North Carolina, and the University of Connecticut.
McGlaston will come to Nevada from Berkeley High School in California. She is a 5-6 point guard who coach Ada Gee believes will fit nicely into the system.
