A special Monday meeting of the Storey County commissioners will be a workshop on Tahoe/Reno Industrial Park, a 102,000-acre development billed as the largest such park in the world.
The 10 a.m. workshop will be led by Guy Hobbs, the former Clark County finance director who is now a consultant.
Tahoe/Reno Industrial Park, formerly the Asamera Ranch , is owned by three Reno businessmen who also own the South Meadows Business Park in Reno - L. Lance Gilman, Roger W. Norman and Don Roger Norman. Gilman also owns the Carson-Tahoe Harley Davidson dealership in Carson City.
Three-quarters of the park is in Storey County, the remainder in Lyon County.
A 420,000-square-foot building at the park is being built for Sparks-based Hydro-Line Inc., which makes hydraulic air cylinders used in the scientific, industrial and entertainment fields. Entertainment uses include amusement park and virtual reality-type rides.
The partners purchased the former ranch from Gulf Oil Co.
The meeting will be in the district courtroom on the second floor of the Storey County Courthouse.
