A memorial service for Henry "Hank" Etchemendy, 78, a Nevada native, will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1070 W. Plumb Lane, Reno.
Mr. Etchemendy died Dec. 18, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Eureka.
Mr. Etchemendy served as city manager of Elko, Carson City and Reno. He was a member of the International City Managers Association. He served as Executive Director of the Nevada Association of School Boards for 15 years, retiring in October 2000.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
Among his survivors are his wife of 53 years Peggy; sons Larry and Arnold both of Reno and Bill of Taos, N.M.; grandchildren Brandon, Erin and Cory; brother Martin of Elko and sister Mary Guccini of Fruita, Colo.
