Cannons baseball sweeps two games

The Carson Cannons 18 and under baseball team swept two games at the Red Dawgs Fall Shootout.


Carson defeated Pinole of the Bay area and South Tahoe 24-2. Ryan Buttner (5-0) pitched a two-hitter for the win against Pinole. Aaron Henry went 2-for-3, Owen Brolsma had an RBI triple and Ryan Henry had an RBI double.


Against South Tahoe, Josh Camper was the winning pitcher. Jake Rasner was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, Neil Holmes went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, Aaron Henry had a home run and three RBIs and Steve Weyrick had a pinch-hit three-run home run for his first home run in his baseball career.


Carson will play today at 8:30 a.m. against El Dorado and 1:30 p.m. against the Sparks Tribe at the Don Mello Sports Complex in Sparks.
