Mark Oct. 20 on your "Fun Things To Do" calendar.
That's the date of the Ninth Annual Carson City Ghost Walk.
That popular event is jointly sponsored by the Carson City Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the Carson City Redevelopment Authority.
The Ghost Walk is an annual walking tour of a number of selected homes in Carson City's historical district, along the Kit Carson Trail.
This year's tour will feature a brand new set of homes open to the public on that particular day. On the tour and at those selected homes, you will be entertained by eerie "ghosts of yesteryear."
This year's Ghost Walk needs a number of volunteers to help with that special event. Those volunteers are needed to assist with a number of different activities including:
-- Serving as a tour guide. Those guided tours will leave the Nevada State Museum every half hour beginning at 1 a.m., with the last tour of the day leaving at 2:30 p.m.
-- Serving as an informational person, stationed in front of the various homes opened for the public tours.
-- Serving as a ticket seller for the tour. There will be a nominal charge for the guided tours. Tour tickets can be purchased, in advance, at the Carson City Convention and Visitor's Bureau at 1900 S. Carson St.
-- Serving as a ticket taker at the selected homes.
-- Helping to set up the selected yards and homes for the visits.
-- Handing out informational pamphlets at the beginning the tours.
-- Conducting surveys of those individuals, who take the tours, to develop tourist-related information.
To volunteer to help with this year's Ghost Walk, call the Carson City Convention and Visitor's Bureau at 687-7410 during regular business hours.
If you do sign up, a volunteers' meeting will be held on Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at Comma Coffee at 312 S. Carson St.
