Donald A. Franke, born January 22, 1924 in Sacramento, Calif., passed away September 8, 2001 at the age of 77. A Masonic memorial will be held September 21, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Warren Harding Lodge, 2354 Forrest St., off of Business 80, Arden Way in Sacramento, Calif.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Franke, of Brookings, Ore.; sons Donald Franke II, Ronald Franke, Adrian and wife Marla; daughters Linda Franke and Marilyn Pavlik; sisters Mae Fedrau, Evalyn and husband Donald Decker and Dixie Ashley; sister in-law Audrey Franke; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his brother, Earnest Franke.
Donald served in the Army and Navy during WWII, and was active in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets. He served as chaplain of the Concord Lodge of Sacramento, Calif., serving as Master in 1968, 1986 and 1993, receiving the Hiram Award in 1993.
He was also a member of the Nevada City Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Rainbow Pop of Nevada City Rainbow for Girls, Sciots of Sacramento and National President of the 41st Infantry Division.
