The Carson City Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Carson City bar early Tuesday.

About 3:10 a.m. Tuesday the bandit walked into Clancy's bar in the 300 block of East Winnie Lane. With a glove on one hand and a sock on the other, he demanded money from the bartender.

Victims told police he escaped through the back door with a cordless phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber is described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, wearing a black cowboy hat with a black and brown leather tassel hanging from the back, a blue-and-white plaid shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. A witness said he also had a light beard and moustache.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Department at 887-2500, ext. 1400.
