In a well-matched game last Friday, the Carson Senators Pee Wee Blue Pop Warner football team defeated the Sparks Bills 14-13.
Carson opened the scoring when Robbie Bozin scored on a sweep, with huge blocks from Gary Grow, Jake Helget, Isaac Holt, Tyler Devall, Hunter Santillo and Dallas Colodny. Sparks went on to tie the score 7-7 and had a drive going with the help of two Senator facemask penalties.
But Senator Mathew Kiser sacked the quarterback to stop the drive.
Carson took over and drove the length of the field behind the running of Ryan Eichenberger. The drive also included key pass plays from Gary Grothe to Bozin.
Bozin went on to score his second touchdown behind a strong offensive line as time ran out in the first half to give Carson a 14-7 lead.
After the Bills scored a quick touchdown in the second half, the Senator defense behind Adam Carmazzi, Trae Tuttle, Matt Kizer, Casey Lillard, Caleb Carter, Brandon Letizia, Bozin and a strong front four prevented the Bills from scoring the extra point, which turned out to be the difference of the game. Bozin also had an interception for Carson.
