MINDEN -- Murder suspect Christopher Allan Fiegehen will make his first court appearance Monday at 10:30 a.m. before East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl to hear charges he killed a Johnson Lane man and injured his wife.

Fiegehen was returned to Douglas County late Friday after he was arrested earlier in the week in Vincennes, Ind., ending a two-month search.

Douglas County Deputy District Attorney Mark Jackson said Thursday he anticipates filing an amended complaint that could contain new charges against Fiegehen.

Jackson added he hasn't made a decision if he will seek the death penalty for Fiegehen.

Fiegehen, 23, of Carson City is charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the Feb. 10 stabbing death of Al Chorkey and shooting of his wife, Lorelle Chorkey, in the couple's Johnson Lane-area home. They are the parents of Fiegehen's ex-girlfriend, Alane Dockstader.

Vincennes University campus police found Fiegehen on Tuesday about 10 p.m. walking along train tracks near school grounds.

Since the Feb. 10 murder, a national manhunt and two profiles of the case on Fox's "America's Most Wanted" had generated few clues.

On March 12, the FBI confirmed Fiegehen had worked about 10 days in a Mobile, Ala., restaurant under a fake name before disappearing March 8.

Pierini wouldn't comment on the sheriff's office's interaction with Fiegehen since his arrest.

Once in Douglas County, Fiegehen will make an initial appearance in East Fork Justice Court and will be advised of his rights and receive the criminal complaint filed against him. Prosecutors must show probable cause to detain Fiegehen during a preliminary hearing within 15 days of his first appearance.

Douglas County investigators continue to analyze the case.

"The investigation is ongoing and hasn't been fully completed," Jackson said. "We will apply all the facts as we understand them and look to see if there are aggravating circumstances" that warrant the death penalty.
