Lois "Annie" Johnson, 80, a Carson City resident for the past four years, died April 11, 2002, in Carson City. She was born May 24, 1921, in Havre, Mont., to Evan and Elizabeth Harris.
She married Romaine Johnson on Aug. 16, 1941, in Cut Bank, Mont.
Mrs. Johnson worked for Pacific Telephone for 25 years in the San Francisco Bay area. Upon her retirement in 1978, she moved to Carson City where she became involved in volunteer work at Carson-Tahoe Hospital, the Carson City Library and St. Teresa Church.
She loved playing bridge and watching baseball. She liked everything connected with trains and the railroad. She enjoyed music, art, swimming, gardening and taking walks. She had a special regard for Native American culture and nature.
Among her survivors are her husband of 60 years Romaine; son Robert of Reno and daughter Evan of Carson City; sisters Fonetta of Arizona and Margaret of Washington state; grandson Jeremy; one nephew and five nieces.
Cremation will be at Walton's Funeral Home. At her request there will be no funeral.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
