Motorists traveling between Carson City and Minden this week will see a few more flashing lights along their commute.
Douglas County will activate the new traffic signal at Topsy Lane at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Activation of the signal may cause a few minor delays as traffic will be stopped so that motorists are not startled by the sudden activation of the lights, said Ron Roman, of the Douglas County Engineering Department.
The Nevada Department of Transportation put up reader boards notifying motorists Thursday night of the upcoming activation.
Roman said the flashing warning lights, that now warn drivers of the signal at Jacks Valley Road, will be relocated Monday night so northbound motorists headed down the hill will now be warned of the Topsy signal.
"Hopefully, people will take note of that and come the 6th there won't be any problems," he said.
The signal is part of the construction of the new 223,498-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter, which is expected to open Aug. 14.
