Obituary: Jon Peter Zegers

Jon Peter Zegers, 60, a Gardnerville and Carson City-area resident for the past four years, died Nov. 26, 2002, at his home in Gardnerville. He was born Sept. 23, 1942, in New York, to Edward F. and Lillian D. Felten Zegers.

Before moving to this area, he lived in New York.

Mr. Zegers was a police officer for 23 years, working for the Orangetown, New York Police Department. He worked at Carson Lanes and he loved bowling.

Among his survivors are his sons John Peter II and Timothy L., both of Gardnerville, and Andrew E. of Middletown, N.Y., and four grandchildren.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
