A funeral Mass for Blanca Ibarra Groso, 78, a Wellington resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Yerington.
A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home.
Mrs. Groso died Dec. 13, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Uriz, Navarra, Spain, to Jose and Niconora Aristu Ibarra.
She arrived in the United States on July 4, 1950, and lived with family in San Francisco and Reno. In 1954, she began working at the Pyrenees Hotel in Gardnerville, where she met her husband Angelo Groso then moved to Smith Valley.
In Smith Valley, she was very involved in her community and church.
Among her survivors are her husband of 48 years; daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Adrian Taylor; sons and daughters-in-law David and Nancy Groso and Joe and Denise Groso; brother, Severino Ibarra; sisters Dolores Ibarra Cemborian, Maria Nieves Ibarra and Josefa Ibarra Iraceburu; grandchildren Rusty Koehler, Matthew and Megan Taylor, and Felicia, Emilia and Christina Groso; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Smith Valley.
