A funeral for Robert "Bob" William Stading, 63, a Carson City resident for the past six years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Mr. Stading died Dec. 15, 2002, at home. He was born Nov. 1, 1939, in Danzig, N.D., to Samuel and Blondina Herr Stading. He grew up on his parents' farm and attended school in the area.
He married Kathy Weintz in Deadwood, S.D.
Mr. Stading was an auto mechanic from 1963 to 1996, with 20 years at the San Joaquin County Motor Pool. After his retirement, he moved to Carson City, where he worked part-time as a handyman for his wife's property management business at Coldwell Banker-Village Realty. He attended Capital Christian Center.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Reuben and George.
Among his survivors are his wife, Kathy; daughters Tamara Sprinkle of Angels Camp, Calif., and Robin Stading-Vasquez of Carson City; five grandchildren; siblings Lillian Helmer, Stella Mehlhaff and Ben Stading of Wishek, N.D., Charlotte Rudolph and Yetta Shepherd of Denver, Colo., Corrine Martin of Coppers Cove, Texas, Charles Stading of Lodi, Calif., and Emogene Lautt of Moses Lake, Wash.; sisters-in-law Leota Stading of Bismark, N.D., and Karen Stading of Fargo, N.D.,; and 22 nieces and nephews and their families.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
