Private family services will be held for Billie Jean Tucker a Wellington resident since 1986.
Mrs. Tucker died Dec. 20, 2002 at home. She was born Feb. 18, 1928 in Cecil, Ark., to Irwin and Sylvia Smith Garrett. She was 74.
She graduated from Fillmore High School in Fillmore, Calif., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Tucker was active in both the Boy and Girl scouts, earning the grand Cross of Colors in the Rainbow Girls, and was a frequent volunteer at civic functions while in the Santa Paula area.
She married Donald Pal Tucker Nov. 12, 1944 in Fillmore.
Prior to living in Wellington she lived in Bishop-North Fork area of California for 15 years and in Santa Paula, Calif., area for 42 years.
She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Donna Powell.
Among her survivors are her husband, of Wellington; son Darryl of Bishop; daughters Dinna Betchart of New Mexico and Denise Crawford of Bakersfield, Calif.; sister Betty Maenza of Ventura, Calif.; brother William Garrett of Santa Paula; mother of Santa Paula; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under direction of Walton's Sierra Crematory. Burial will be in the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a favorite charity.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
