A funeral for Robert Luke Hartley, 81, a Gardnerville resident for the past seven years, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Chapel in Gardnerville.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
Mr. Hartley died Dec. 24, 2002, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1921, in Modesto, Calif., to Andrew T. and Loretta Scott Hartley.
He married Marjorie Simpson Dec. 24, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Lancaster, Calif.
Mr. Hartley was division chief for Los Angeles County Power Plant Division for 17 years. He was a member of Lafayette Lodge 79 F&AM of Zanesville, Ohio, and a member of Scottish Rite and Shriners. He loved his family and enjoyed golf. He was a Protestant.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the Korean War. He retired from the Navy in 1959, after 21 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his brother Alvin; and sister Darlene Williams.
Among his survivors are his wife of 62 years, Marjorie of Gardnerville; daughters and sons-in-law Donna Lynn and Larry Jones of San Jose,
Calif., and Bonnie Lee and Bob Koontz of Gardnerville; brother James A. and sister Virginia Wallace, both Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
