Joseph John Silva, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years, died Feb. 8, 2002, in Carson City. He was born April 28, 1915, in Berkeley, Calif., to Fernanz and Julia Marshall Silva.
He married Mary Bertolani on March 6, 1982, in Carson City.
Mr. Silva was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a long-time member of the Eagles Lodge in Santa Clara. He enjoyed collecting rocks.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Leverton.
Among his survivors are his wife Mary of Carson City; sons Berry Silva of Ione, Calif., Patrick Silva of Nevada, Daniel Bertolani of California and Roy Bertolani of Antioch, Calif.; daughter Georganna Bertolani of Minden; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
According to his wishes, there will be no service.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
