Carson ski teams win

The Carson boys and girls ski teams both improved to 6-1 on the season with a pair of wins on Thursday.


Carson's boys defeated Wooster 81-61 and edged McQueen 79-77 while the CHS girls beat Wooster 85-70 and McQueen 82-74 in the giant slalom competition.


For the boys against McQueen, Danny Rotter (29.9 seconds) and James Reavis (30.7) went one-two for the Senators. Other top finishers for Carson were Vance Harper (32.1, sixth), Robbie Liebherr (34.1, eighth) and Josh Greenspan (35.7, ninth).


Against Wooster, Harper won in 32.1 seconds and was followed by Liebherr (34.1, fourth), Greenspan (35.7, fifth); Justin Cordova (36.7, sixth) and Andrew Roullard (38.1, eighth).


For Carson's girls, Chelsea Anderson and Janine Kobler went one-two. They were followed by Jackie Nourse (fourth) and Sarah Field and Catarina Farrow, who tied for eighth.


Against Wooster, Kobler placed second (33.4), Nourse was third (34.3), Farrow and Field tied for fourth (35.6), Haley Zook took seventh (36.5) and Judith Altrogge took 10th 38.6).


Carson's next race will be a giant slalom from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Mt. Rose against North Valleys and Reno.
