RENO -- A Reno SWAT team, acting on a tip from Douglas County authorities, surrounded a home near the University of Nevada, Reno late Monday in search of a murder suspect.
But the hunt for 22-year-old Christopher Allan Fiegehen came up empty several hours later after a woman allowed authorities to search the home at 1500 Hillside and no one was found inside.
The woman, described by authorities as a friend of Fiegehen's, was being questioned.
Fiegehen, of Carson City, is a suspect in the Feb. 10 knifing death of 50-year-old Al Chorkey at his home in Minden.
Chorkey's wife, Lorelle Chorkey, 54, was shot and remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Authorities say Fiegehen formerly dated the victims' daughter, who obtained a restraining order against him in January.
Fiegehen is described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with short hair and blue eyes.
Meanwhile, the Elko Daily Free Press reports a gas station attendant reported seeing someone who fits Fiegehen's description in Battle Mountain on Friday.
Prior to Monday's incident, Fiegehen was last seen in Truckee on the morning of the slaying.
Fiegehen is the adopted son of Cubix co-owner Al Fiegehen.
