A graveside service for Kenneth John Ehlers, 81, a Carson City resident for the past 21 years, will be at noon Wednesday at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Ehlers died Jan. 26, 2002 at his home. He was born July 16, 1920, in Wadena, Minn., to Martin and Minnie Schwartz Ehlers.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Sepulveda, Calif.
Mr. Ehlers was a typographer and owned his own business Type-Set in Hollywood, Calif., where he did work for the movie studios. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II as a Boatswain's Mate 1st Class.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Betty Dymond in June 2000, son Kenneth M. in November 1993 and brother Marvin in 1982.
Among his survivors are his daughter Patricia Ann Ehlers of Carson City and brother Warren M. Ehlers of Granada Hills, Calif.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
