The Genoa Lakes Ladies Golf Club recently held its "Pars and Stripes" Member/Guest Tournament in honor of the Fourth of July.
Members decorated golf carts in patriotic red, white and blue and a best ball tournament was held, followed by a luncheon and awards ceremony.
The top low gross scorers were: Member Janet Petrosky and her guest Elaine Easterling, first, 73; K.K. Burlison and Joanne Oberly, second, 77; Martha Barneson and Suzanne Lundahl, third, 77; Jan Wallace and Helen Dizio, fourth, 80; Nancy McDermid and Margit Deuerling, fifth, 83.
The top low net scorers were: Member Laura Amaral and guest Stacey Bayley, first, 55; Martha Cornforth and Jennifer Berry, second, 57; Louise Bell and Shirley Navone, third, 59; Darlene Tiffany and Linda Reynolds, fourth, 59; Judy McLennan and Sharon Kain, fifth, 59.
Guest Helen Dizio won the longest drive award. Closest to the pin honors went to: Guest Nancy Jackson, No. 6; member Jackie Schimmel, No. 8; member Maggie Benz, No. 12; guest Suzanne Lundahl, No. 14.
Martha Barneson won the best costume award as Uncle Sam. Raymi Vontz and Sharon Cook won best decorated cart honors. A special consolation award was given to Lorraine Dix and Joel Ierien.
Mo Marshall was chairman of the event and was assisted by Laura Amaral, Margaret Phillips, Martha Barneson, K.K. Burlison, Carole Schenck, Bev Wurtele and Lorraine Dix.
