Investigators from the Central Lyon County Fire District and Lyon County Sheriff's Office said the fire was set by someone possibly with the use of an accelerant. Three people were inside when the fire started.
According to a report from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, Lisa Wright and Shirley Holland awoke about 3 a.m. when they heard something hit their residence, a mobile home at 200 James Court.
The pair said they heard footsteps, someone running in the landscaping rocks and, when they looked outside, the front steps were engulfed in flames.
Several Lyon County fire stations responded to the fire, but about 80 percent of the home was lost, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
One of the residents was treated for smoke inhalation, but the pair escaped uninjured, together with an 8-year-old child.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with housing and personal needs.
Anyone with information about the arsonist is asked to call the Central Lyon County Fire District at 246-6209 or the Lyon County Sheriff's Office at 577-5206. A $2,500 reward is being offered for any information leading to arrest and conviction in this case.
