Dayton baseball routs South Tahoe

The Dayton baseball team exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on its way to an 18-4 rout over 4A school South Tahoe on Tuesday.


Ivan Trigueros hit a three-run home run, his second homer of the day, and Tim Torres belted a three-run double during the rally. After falling behind 4-0 in the top of the second, the Dust Devils scored five runs in the bottom of the second and three runs in the third to take an 8-4 lead in the game that was called after five innings.


Trigueros went 3-for-3 with five RBIs and Matt Bowman had three hits with four RBIs. Adam Diament pitched three innings for the win and Bowman finished up, pitching the last two innings.
