The dolls are ready and the teddy bears lined up for the second annual Easter Parade Doll and Teddy Bear Auction, slated Sunday at the Children's Museum.
A benefit for the museum, the event is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. and there will be something for the most sophisticated collector as well as the youngest aficionado, according to Mary Ann Weiss, chairwoman for this event.
"We'll have at least 30 dolls and more than 40 teddy bears for the auction," she said. "Patty Jones, one of the most renowned doll experts in the West, has donated a couple of dolls, but most came from local donors."
An expert in vintage and antique dolls, Jones has almost 1,000 in her collection and is the featured speaker. She will be joined by local Joey Parker, who will give a talk on vintage children's clothing.
"We're also having a hat-decorating contest and a coloring contest," Weiss said.
The tea will include punch and cookies, and a doll house valued at $3,000 will be raffled. Museum officials will supply hats for the hat decorating contest, but contestants are also invited to bring their own.
Children can get their teddy bears for the coloring contest at the Children's Museum and they must be submitted by March 23.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. Tickets for the raffle cost $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased before the event at the Children's Museum or at the auction. For more information call 884-2226.
