The finalists were selected by members of the Appeal's reader panel and CAT-10 board from among nominations made by readers and viewers in March and April.
They were chosen based on the merit of their contributions in their particular field and to the communities where they live throughout the area in which the Appeal circulates.
"The finalists represent the quality of the people in the Carson City area, and we're happy to have the chance to recognize their achievements," said Barry Smith, editor of the Appeal.
This is the third year the Appeal and CAT-10 have sponsored the Community Awards, which have a long history in Carson City and were previously hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
The awards luncheon costs $15 per person (or $17 at the door). Reservations may be made by mailing a check, payable to the Nevada Appeal, to Community Awards, Nevada Appeal, P.O. Box 2288, Carson City, NV 89702.
