All-league soccer players named

Douglas High's Tracey Hawks was the Midfielder of the Year and teammate Jessica Brady was the Defender of the Year in the Sierra League in girls soccer.


Joining Hawks and Brady on the first team were teammates Hannah Sullivan and Cristine Bradshaw at forward, Terran Hadlock at midfield and Andrea Bryant at goalie and Carson's Katie Kotter at midfield.


Named to the second team for Carson were Kristin Hale and Chrissy Katzorke at forward and Carolina Hernandez on defense. Named to the second team for Douglas was defender Rebecca Wallstrum. Honorable mention choices were Carson's Kasey Cano, Cassie Bowman, Allie Davis and Kathryn Rogers and the Tigers' Molly Hernandez.


For the boys, Carson's Kirkwood Harris at midfield and Jeff Rogers at defender and the Tigers' Sean Rahe on defense were named to the first team.


Second team choices for Carson were forwards Ernesto Ayala and Bryce Burgess, midfielder Christian Lohsche, defender Dan Burger and goalie Sean Carter. Midfielder Chris Honer and defender Kyle Carney were named to the second team for Douglas.


Honorable mention choices were Carlos Hernandez and Brian Arce and the Tigers' Colton Mellows, Jarid Price and Levi Mellows.


In the High Desert League for the girls, Galena's Veronica Walker was named Co-Forward of the Year. Defender Erin Davis, midfielder Megan Baumbach and goalie Kaitlin Anderson were also named to the first team for Galena.


Named to the second team for Galena were forwards Abby Lepeilbet and Abby Walker, midfielder Kelly Peyton and defender Milissa Baumbach. Melanie Rodarte was an honorable mention choice for Galena. The Grizzlies' Brian Cartinella was picked as the Coach of the Year.


For the boys, forward Kevin Clement, midfielder James Atchison and goalie Patrick Reagan made the first team for Galena. Named to the second team for Galena was midfielder Zac Walter and defender Peter McDonald. Galena's Marco Merlo was the Coach of the Year.
