Four teenagers who may have handled a bat Monday are being sought by the Washoe District Health Department because tests indicate the flying rodent had rabies.

The four teens brought the bat to the Nevada Humane Society in Reno and left. The two girls, a boy and the driver of a newer-model green van with Nevada license plates left before officials could get more details.

"It's imperative we get in touch with them," said health department spokeswoman Cass Luke.

She said the positive rabies test was completed Wednesday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the bat or the teens is asked to call (775) 328-2447.
