The Ordinary People meeting Extraordinary Needs organization will sponsor its third-annual antique appraisal fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 21. The fund-raiser will take place at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
Added to the faire this year will be "Art in the Park," an exhibit of carvings, paintings and photographs, which will be nestled in the pines between the senior center and the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex. The hours of the fair are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so that volunteers may enjoy both events.
The coordinator for the fund-raiser is Larry Kendall, a relative newcomer to oil painting and wood carving. In the past two years he has sold seven paintings and more than 150 wild animal carvings through word of mouth.
Kendall said he has intense respect for "the artist in every human being" and wants affordable creations offered at this exhibit.
"No prices will exceed $200," Kendall said.
