Yerington won its first Northern 3A game in two years as Randy Shumate was the star for the Lions.

Shumate caused a fumble on a punt that was recovered by Matt Galvin. That set up Lucas Mudloff's game-winning 37-yard field goal with two minutes left in the contest.

Shumate also scored on a 9-yard run that tied the game 6-6 in the second quarter. Shumate rushed for 79 yards on 11 carries. Shawn McCarty and Tom Menesini combined for four receptions for 78 yards. McCarty also intercepted a pass for the Lions.
