A memorial and family gathering for Stanley Millard, 77, a Topaz Ranch Estates resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Caples Lake Resort.
Mr. Millard died Aug. 11, 2003, at his home. He was born April 26,1926, in Bountiful, Utah, to Dewey W. and Sarah J. Pace Millard.
Mr. Millard worked as an independent salesman for engineering.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict where he earned the nickname "Bum Boat."
Among his survivors are his wife of 55 years Alma Jean of Topaz Ranch Estates; daughter and son-in-law Trudy Lynn and Allan E. Schindler; son and daughter-in-law Michael Stanley and Wendy Millard; daughters Vicki Jean Borromeo and Patti Leigh Millard; grandchildren Erik, Rusty, Lynn, Shane, David, Ryan, Paul and Brandon and great-granddaughter Audrey Lynn.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
