A Carson City man remained in critical condition Monday after being stabbed Thursday evening, police said.
Douglas Campbell, 31, underwent emergency surgery to have his spleen removed following the stabbing police believe happened in a car in east Carson City, said Sgt. Bob White of the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
According to White, Campbell stumbled into the Silver Dollar Casino following the assault. Police found him slumped in a chair after an employee called for help.
An article in Friday's edition incorrectly identified the casino as Slotworld.
White said detectives have an idea who the suspect is, but declined to release any other information.
A witness told police Campbell came into the casino, went to the bathroom, then stumbled to the cage, saying he'd been stabbed.
He was taken by Care Flight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center, where he underwent surgery.
White said Campbell has been unable to give police any information.
"We're making headway on this. That's all I can say," he said.
