An Elks memorial service for Vaughn E. Gramms, 73, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Carson City Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St.
Mr. Gramms died Dec. 12, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born June 1, 1930, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Dan and Bertha Bechthold Gramms.
He was a member of Carson City Elks Lodge 2177, Eagles Lodge 1006, Moose Lodge in Canoga Park, Calif., and E Clampus Vitus Chief Truckee Chapter 3691 and Snowshoe Thompson 1827. He started flying at the age of 16 in his first airplane. He enjoyed traveling, life, crossword puzzles and watching "Judge Judy."
Among his survivors are his loving companion Dee Bruse of Carson City and many cousins and friends in Canada.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
