A 21-year-old Carson City was bailed out of jail this week after being arrested on suspicion of attempting to kidnap his ex-girlfriend.

Lester Ledda is accused of taking a 16-year-old Pioneer High School student from the campus at about 10:30 a.m. Friday.

The girl, with whom he once had a relationship, willingly got into the car, said Chief Deputy Steve Schuette of the Carson City Sheriff's Department.

Once inside, Schuette said, Ledda allegedly drove the girl to Washoe Valley. When she tried to get away, he grabbed her and threatened her with a razor blade, saying he could "slit her throat," Schuette said.

After making her promise not to tell anyone about the incident, Ledda returned the girl to the school. She reported the incident to staff, who then called the police, reports state.

Ledda was arrested at about 12:30 p.m. Monday at his home on Janice Street.

He was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony conspiracy to commit kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery.
