A bandit made off with $100 in an unusual early morning robbery at the North Carson Street AM-PM Mini Market.
Police said a man entered the convenience store at about 1:10 a.m. and bought cigarettes and beer using a Wisconsin driver's license.
After saying he had just been robbed for more than $900 at Wal-Mart four miles south in Douglas County, the robber then asked the clerk for the money in the cash register. When the clerk handed it over, the bandit walked away.
"The victim said he had not seen a weapon nor was he threatened in any way," said Chief Deputy Steve Schuette of the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
The bandit is described as a white adult male in his late 20s to early 30s with red hair, a red moustache and beard. He was wearing a black-and-green jacket with a hood pulled over his head, exposing his eyes and mouth. He was last seen getting into a gray primer-colored 1970s, General Motors-type car and leaving the parking lot northbound on Carson Street.
