A celebration of life for Gerald R. Baley, 86, a Carson City resident, will be at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the First Christian Church of Carson City with the Rev. Ken Haskins officiating.
Mr. Baley died Dec. 29, 2002. He was born May 4, 1916, in Arnette, Okla., to Joseph L. and Carrie May Hovey Baley. As a child, he traveled with his parents in a covered wagon to New Mexico.
He graduated from high school and community college in San Bernardino, Calif., and Pacific Christian College, where he majored in Bible and music. He studied at the Conservatory of Music in Kansas City, Mo., and served as a pastor for two small churches.
He married Rosemary Brechbuhler Dec. 22, 1950, in Ohio and they moved to San Bernardino where they started a church in Needles, Calif.
Mr. Baley was a retired minister and professor in a Bible college. He served as the minister of music and an elder at the First Christian Church of Carson City before his retirement.
Among his survivors are his wife of 52 years Rosemary and son Tim, both of Carson City, and numerous cousins and in-laws.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baley Memorial at the First Christian Church of Carson City.
