Assemblyman Tom Collins, D-Las Vegas, was released from Carson-Tahoe Hospital on Tuesday.

Collins was taken from the Legislative Building to the hospital on Monday after suffering symptoms including fatigue and chest pains while on the floor of the Assembly awaiting an afternoon meeting. He underwent a series of tests Monday including an EKG and stress test.

"I have the release papers in my hands," said Collins Tuesday afternoon. "I'm going home to my own doctor."

When asked what the tests showed, he said he would have to wait until his physician explained the results to him in detail. The symptoms were earlier described as brought on by the stress of the final days of the legislative session.

Collins, 53, is a Democrat who represents Assembly District 1 in northeast Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. He is an electrical contractor and journeyman lineman.

He said he and his wife, Kathleen, were returning to their home in North Las Vegas until called back to Carson City.
