A fire Sunday night that gutted a garage on Pratt Street may have been intentionally set, a Carson City fire official said Monday.

"It looks suspicious, but at this point we can't be certain," said Assistant Fire Chief Steve Mihelic. "The fire is still under investigation. We don't have a whole lot to begin with."

Firefighters responded to the blaze Sunday night about 10:08 p.m. at 216 South Pratt Street.

When engines arrived, the garage, which is not part of the house, was engulfed in flames, Mihelic said. The blaze was contained within 15 minutes, he said.

No one was injured. The residents were inside the house at the time of the fire.

"There is no obvious accidental cause, therefore it's suspicious," he said. "There is a lot of combustibles and stuff in the garage which makes it more difficult to determine the cause."
