Organizers of a noon rally to support U.S. troops and President Bush said Monday they are expecting more than 200 supporters to gather in front of the State Legislative Building on Wednesday.
The "Rally 'Round the Flag" walk will welcome anyone wearing red, white and blue to carry signs and flags in support of troops who are preparing for war with Iraq half-way around the world.
Rally organizer Don Dallas, a member of the Navy League in Carson City, called on various veterans' groups around the Reno-Carson City area to attend the event.
"There seems to be a great deal of enthusiasm to show support for our military personnel," Dallas said. "I think it's important because we are sending our young men and women into a hazardous situation where there will be loss of life.
"We feel it's very important these military personnel understand there are people here who support what they do," he said.
